Watched a documentary last week called The Corporation. It was actually very interesting, although as per most media type digs, can't totally agree with it. In the film they go through the start of corporations to that of the modern day ones. Everyone interviewed had their own notion of the problem and supposed solutions. But what was kinda bizarre were the suggestions a couple of people threw out. They were basically saying that the corporations are a bunch of control hungry monsters (no denying that)but that instead the government should stop being weak and step in and control it, and in turn be the power hungry beast, but wait..they seem to have forgotten that the government already is just that, and the government let it get out of hand in the first place. They made a lot of rulings that seemed simple to them, and non problematic, but if you give Sue a sucker, you better give Johnny one too. They allowed the corporations to act, each as it's own person. A person without moral values, unless the love of money is some kind of moral value..oh wait that's the root of all evil. The Corps (I like that name for them) got these "rights" under the..13th amendment, taking full advantage of what was set up for African Americans. The governments allowed the producing of goods without appropriate health tests, and the use of practices they know are harmful. The patent office also issued a patent on a living organism, which was something they never allowed before, as they believed that no one can own the patterns to life...so here we go. It's interesting to think of how things used to be, how they are now, and how we'd all die if it all just fell back to how it was. Alas, we're products of our society and as such, we kinda tend to depend on it, as flawed as it is. But yeah, I give the film a thumbs up, and we had plenty to talk and ponder about after.

Well the cleaning is calling, another Saturday almost gone, but the Lord's day to follow, yahoo!!
