Hm, that hyper link didn't work so here we go once more "On Communicating"
Ah yes, another wildly wasteful day for myself. Today I did another very stupid thing. I got up this morning and remembered that I had a couple of videos to return before 10 am, so I walked to Mark's work to get the car and drove off to drop the videos off. After dropping them off I thought I'd stop by the library to pick up some books, CDs and such. The library however doesn't open till 10:00 on Saturdays and it was only 9:45, but I still had a book by Dickens in the car, so I thought I might as well read that while waiting. It takes 10 minutes to drive back to Mark's to drop the car off anyhow and I wasn't going to be near the library again any time soon. So 10 came around and I locked my doors and grabbed my glasses and got out and went in. I was only in there for about 30 to 45 minutes, had found what I wanted and thought I'd better be on my way. But what's this?? why aren't my car keys on the key ring attached to my purse? I knew right away I had done a stupid thing. I glanced into the driver side window and there they were. I've only done this once before and once should have been enough.haha I had put the keys back in the ignition when I got back in to wait, but never turned the car on since I was planning on reading.. so I guess forgot to pull them back out again before exiting. So after this I went back into the library and called Belinda to let her know why I was going to take forever. Thankfully Belinda has a set of keys, so I walked home which took about 35 minutes and ate a late breakfast at 11:45 or so, eh heh. Got her keys, my little radio (lent my CD player to Tams) and some negatives to get reprints of and walked back. I stopped by Overwaitea i.e.. Save On Foods and dropped the negatives off and bought a couple things. I then dropped the car off at Marks work and came home. So about an hour and a half of walking plus time here and there, but I had wanted to go for a walk anyways so no complaints there. I can't say I got much done though, but it's Saturday right?

Oh, I was also going to recommend a book on tape called On Communicating by Mark H. McCormack. Tam and I listened to it while quilting, quite entertaining and some pretty good tips too.

Well anyhow, I'm really happy December is almost over and that it's almost 2004, aren't we supposed to be driving flying cars or something?

Off to do something semi useful, or not. :D

Hey,

Just signing in for a second to let you know I finally got a few of my pics from my trip to GA in the mail. There aren't many up and since I wasn't able to take a cam with me most of these were taken by Dee Dee. Anyhow, here's the link PHOTOS

Well I better get off of here, Tam and I are off to watch the Return of the King tonight, so I best be set for that.

Adios,

Ah yes, another loverly Saturday. I started off my day by sleeping in, followed by taking some pictures to finish off the roll of film with the quilt on it. As soon as Tam got back from her hair cut and lunch with a co-worker then Belinda, Tam, the kids and I headed for the bank and off to Costco to obtain a few things. From there we went clothes shopping, which turned out successful. Tam and I dropped B and the kids off and went to Visions, since we heard they were having a CD sale. We managed to pick up a couple CDs for only $4.88 each compared to $21, so needless to say we were pleased. We then went to Tim Hortons to drop the car off for Mark, who has been working longer days due to some changes in the stores. We got some coffee to drink on the way home and some grounds for the Lord's day, then off to the mall to buy a few more things. So now I'm home, just had supper and I'm feeling quite happy.

I really can't wait till this season of madness is over. I don't think I've ever seen so many stupid people in cars and on foot in my life. You're driving and people just walk right out in front of you, in herds with no cross walk. I even had that happen on one of the main roads. While waiting for Belinda who was in her bank I had some lady standing right in my driving lane, her back towards me, just standing there. As soon as she saw me she moved, but it really seemed like bagging to be run over. It was really snowing out so a lot of drivers were only going 30 or so on 50 roads. Several people took the right of way when it wasn't theirs or went through stop signs without enough space for them, forcing everyone else to slow down or stop. But we we didn't crash into anyone, so I guess that's something to be thankful for.

One other pain, aren't x-mass decorations enough?? Do they really have to play the music as well? The whole time we were shopping they had the carols on and the really sad part is that we know a lot of the lyric (not like they're hard to learn) so they become wedged in your brain and are only dismantled with the replacement of a good song.

Well I should go throw a load of laundry in the wash before the day's over.

A great Lord's day to you all.

Anyone in need of a big green fridge magnet with an "N" on it? Yep, I don't need it anymore, yahoo! My test went pretty smoothly this morning. Not too much traffic, it was overcast, the roads were pretty clear, and I had a new instructor. So yeah, I had a couple corrections, one on stopping too far back from some stop signs and taking some of my lefts too sharply, but nothing serious. My photo license should be here in 10 days or so. It's always fun having the ugliest picture on there for 5 years, but it's not like we show them to anyone. :D So I thought I'd drop in to tell you as how it went and now I'm off to go about my business.

Hope your day is going swimmingly.

Ever get that feeling like there's more to it then meets the eye. Well I had that feeling today, when I went for my road test in order to get my final license. I didn't get to the point of passing or failing thanks to my insurance or lack there of, eh heh. Yep, I was in the driver seat all ready to go, she was walking around the vehicle checking to be sure that everything works. She took a look at my plate, and low-and-behold it expired yesterday, oops. So then of course I couldn't take the test, nor could I drive home. I did however get my money back, the one bright spot in my day, haha. So I called Belinda, who called Mark and Tammy, I called Tam (she works at the same joint that insures us) and she had just talked to Belinda. She found out that Mark was going to get a ride to pick up the new insurance and the sticker for the plate, then get a ride to ICBC to get me and the car. Thankfully I had brought A Child's History of England by Dickens, so at least I had something to read while waiting. Now that really bazaar part, we don't normally put the parking break on when we park, but I do when I take road tests, well Mark who was going to drive me home, never took the break off and he never noticed either. We drove to his work, I dropped him off and drove home, and of course notice the break was still on, but I called the Toyota place in town, and it shouldn't be hard or pricey to fix. The road test people were very nice about it, and since they cancelled on me the first time, when I would have been insured they fit me into Thursday of next week and 8:45. I just really wish it was over, cuz I'm getting tired of this run around and besides who needs to drive anyway? haha.

Well I'm off to try to get something profitable done, might as well make today count for something, although I realize this may have been a very good thing. Mark has been really busy with some changes that they are making at his work, so he may not have remembered till next week, in which time if we had an accident we wouldn't have been covered, or if we had been pulled over we would have had a ticket. So all it really cost was a tad of disappointment, a parking break and a bit of everyone's time. :)

Ah yes, Friday again. I love Fridays, third favorite day of the week. :)

As of last Friday I took a career aptitude test in a book called "Discover What You're Best At" There are six tests: Business (58 q's), Clerical (78 q's), Logic (54 q's), Mechanical (43 q's), Numerical (47 q's) and Social (55 q's). They give you a time limit, in which time you finish as many questions as possible, you then rank how well you did in each one. The tests you score higher on are those things you're best at. You then take the first letters of up to three of the test you're best at, then look through their career clusters.

I ended up with the highest in Logic, the second was tied between Business and Mechanical. So since these were my highest I took the first letters, alphabetizing them like this: BLM, BL, BM and ML. So there are my career clusters. I then looked in the back of the book at the careers that are listed under these clusters. They organize the careers for each cluster under high School/Apprenticeship; two-year college/certificate program; four-year college; graduate school. After browsing these, I found that I where my interests are, there my ability are also. The only job that really caught my eye was Industrial design, which takes two years in college and doesn't seem to have a bad paycheck. In the very back of the book it give you a definition of each job, which helps. I recommend this to anyone who isn't sure what their gifts are, or if they're in doubt of those gifts, or if they can't think of suitable careers. Oh, I got it out of the library, so no money down. :)

And the far more important new of the week is as follows...TAM AND I FINISHED IT :D:D:D. If you don't know what I'm talking about, we don't talk much. But I'm willing to fill you in, since I'm feeling generous, it's a Friday after all. :) The quilt, yep all 200 and some odd squares, cut, sewn, quilted and edged (not to mention how much money with fabric and time). It is complete. Two pillow shams tomorrow (which were kinda an after thought) and that's the end of the story. Oh, and we can't forget to take pictures, after all it may be the hardest one we ever do..I hope, haha.

Well I'm gonna roll, places to be, laundry to fold, and a wide book of math to explore. :D

Proverbs 19:27
Cease listening, my son, to discipline,
And you will stray from the words of knowledge. NASB

Proverbs 19:27
Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge. KJV

The NASB seems to undermine the passage about occasional hearing to me. As though to stop hearing any instruction, good or bad will cause you to stray.

Ok, I'm back. Last week we had the elders in town, as well as Mrs. Lonna Price and Amy Barrow. They arrived on Thursday to drop Amy off and then went out to the Saville's which I guess was their sleeping headquarters. I can't really remember what we did the first night Amy was here.

On Friday however, we had the two Prices and Greg Barrow over for lunch. Was a very nice visit, at the end of which Belinda, Mark and I had our little communion reviews. Tam, Amy and I went to the mall: bought CDs, hot chocolate and a few snacks and returned home in time for family worship. Lonna came back in the evening for a couple hours, my dad arrived, and Amy and I (well mostly Amy I guess :D ) came into chat for a bit. I believe we then watched a movie later that evening, ate our snacks and talked some.

Saturday afternoon the elders came for lunch again. Tam and my dad had their little exams for communion and the elders where on their way again. Amy and I spent a ton of time burning CDs and Tam took my dad to a few places to get some things, and I ground a wack of grain with the electric mill, which we borrowed from my mom. I seem to have lost almost all of the memories that make up Saturday night, please forgive me. :D

The Lord's day was truly wonderful. The only thing that dampened it was poor Greg Barrow having to go to the hospitaldue to kidney stones. We had another great sermon on Mark, which was followed by some baptisms and the Lord's Supper, both of which we haven't had in ages, so it was really wonderful. After the service we (Pastor Price, Milly, Lonna, Paul Roberts, Tammy, Amy and I) swung by the hospital to see how elder Barrow was. Turned out that he was released, so he was able to pile in the vehicle and come with us to the Grenon's. At the Grenon's we had a fellowship meal and plenty of conversations, although the volume in the room was so loud is was hard to catch many of them. :D So home we came and we made sure to stay up late.

Monday saw Amy and the elders off as well as my dad.

Tuesday evening saw my dad back in town already along with Brett and Tiff (a couple of my cousins from Dawson Creek), and just in time for bible study.

Wednesday saw them off again, although we didn't hear till later in the evening that they had been in an accident 1.5 hours from Dawson. I guess the weather in the Pine Pass was far less then friendly, and to make a long story short, my dad had to take the ditch rather then the back end of a semi. Oh, I forgot to say that he had a trailer full of horses hooked unto the truck. Well anyhow, Dad, Tiff and Brett were alright, although the truck rolled and I guess one of the horses didn't make it.

Right about now it is Thursday evening, and my dad and Uncle Danny are here, (for another load of horses) although to explain what they are driving and such would take more time then I'm willing to spend.

Well I'm off of this blog, and probably won't be back for awhile, so have fun checking it over and over again to only find an old post. :D

Okidoki, I'm here to try and blog about copyrights on music. Now I haven't had a lot of free time to do research, but here are a few of my thoughts.

First I will try to address the levy that Canadians pay on their recording media. Now I meation Canadians because our copyright laws are different then the US. Here is the official site having to do with Canadian Levies . Now you will notice on the first page that it says "in Respect of the
Reproduction for Private Use of Musical Works
Embodied in Sound Recordings" . So we'll head back to the copyright site to find more about private copying. Here are two sites that give the definition of "private copying":

Site A-2001 says "II. THE PRIVATE COPYING REGIME Part I.A of the 1999 decision describes the
private copying regime. In a nutshell, the regime
legalizes private copying, which is the
reproduction, for private use, of sound
recordings of musical works. In return, those
who make or import recording media ordinarily
used to make private copies are required to pay
a levy on each such medium." "First, the private copying regime legalizes
copying for the private use of the person making
the copy. It does not legalize copying for use
(private or otherwise) by a third party: a CD that
a person burns for the use of another is not a
private copy. On the other hand, it is not
required that the source or target medium be
lawfully owned; using a stolen prerecorded CD
to make a private copy on a stolen CD-R
involves two instances of theft but no copyright
infringement." (Hard to know what to think of that one)

Site B-1999 says "A. Legislative Framework A. Le cadre législatif
On March 19, 1998, Part VIII of the Copyright
Act 1 [the “Act”] came into force.2 Until then,
copying any sound recording for almost any
purpose infringed copyright.3 In practice, that
prohibition was largely unenforceable. Part VIII
legalizes one such activity: copying of sound
recordings of musical works onto recording media
for the private use of the person who makes the
copy [hereafter “private copying”]. At the same
time, a levy is imposed on blank audio recording
media to compensate authors, performers and
makers who own copyright in those sound
recordings."

There are two newer sites but they basically state that the rules are the same, cept for a change in levy, not a change in private copying. I'm sorry if I did missed some imporant part on one of those site since I only skimmed them. So please don't pick on me. :D

Site C Copying for Private Use

80. (1) Subject to subsection (2), the act of reproducing all or any substantial part of

(a) a musical work embodied in a sound recording,

(b) a performer's performance of a musical work embodied in a sound recording, or

(c) a sound recording in which a musical work, or a performer's performance of a musical work, is embodied

onto an audio recording medium for the private use of the person who makes the copy does not constitute an infringement of the copyright in the musical work, the performer's performance or the sound recording.

(2) Subsection (1) does not apply if the act described in that subsection is done for the purpose of doing any of the following in relation to any of the things referred to in paragraphs (1)(a) to (c):

(a) selling or renting out, or by way of trade exposing or offering for sale or rental;

(b) distributing, whether or not for the purpose of trade;

(c) communicating to the public by telecommunication; or

(d) performing, or causing to be performed, in public.

Now I pasted that to illustrate. Ok, I buy a CD..lets say a Blue Rodeo CD :D Now if I make a copy of my BR CD for my own use, it is called a "private copy" I can not give this copy to anyone, nor can I sell, trade or perform it in public. Now it is also legal for me to loan my BR CD to a friend hmm, I'll loan it to friend A, now friend A can use my CD to make their own copy and can give my original BR CD back to me. I can then loan my BR CD to friend B and repeat the process. Now, friend A is not allowed to loan their copy to friend C for private copying since Friend A doesn't own the original BR CD (I own it). However friend C is allowed to borrow and listen to friend A's copy, but they cannot copy it. Now this isn't considered "distributing" since I'm not making copies and giving them to ppl. So thus, programs like KaZaA can't stand since every song being shared on it is a copy of the original, so after you download it becomes a copy of a copy...not a copy of an original.

Ok, some people have suggested that private copying is stealing from the artists no matter what the copyright laws say. I would disagree, since if the artist agrees with the Record Company and if the Record Companies agree (so it's not stealing from the R Companies either) with the copyright board, I would think that the artist sold their say in that matter, just like the artist can no longer choose how many copies the Record Companies makes or at what prices their CDs sell. Their rights now consist of their future songs which they haven't sold, and they still keep the rights of all their songs as far as preventing others from performing them. I also think that these laws agree with scripture, since there is nothing unlawful in them and they were covenanted to by the parties involved, nor were those parties forced.

Okay, I think I'm done, at least for now. :)

For anyone wanting to know about other copyright laws in Canada (including computer program copyrights) "Site C" has all of them.

Well, it's far too late for this, but I've been wanting to post about it for awhile, so what's done, is done. ;)

The Quilt is still going, although only one day a week. Had a few problems after working on it on Saturday that just about drove me bonkers. :D We quilted again yesterday, and it seems to be going, but only piece by piece seeing that my pattern was wreaked after having made the whole thing way too big. Tomorrow Tam and I might go to a quilt show after I pick her up, woohoo, so we can look at all the beautiful quilt and ask ourselves why we didn't do one like "that". I must be really strange, 19 and into drinking tea and quilting, go figure.

Other news is pretty slim, I started reading A Childs History of England on Tuesday, and although it seems pretty interesting I haven't picked it up since I put it down.

I had a nice long, fast walk today while listening to my beloved cd players :D, and then took the kids to the park for 20 minutes or so.

Oh, I booked my "up and coming" road test for November the 3rd, it better not snow; I need clear skys and clear roads wouldn't hurt a bit. :D They've actually started charging $25 to ppl who don't give two days notice of cancellation, so a good thing for me to keep in mind, since licenses cost enough alone, without extra charges being added to the bill.

So Sorry that there isn't anything in this post worth reading, maybe I'll hurt myself and thus be able to give a better post next time (now I'm thinking positively). :D

And a good evenin' to ya.

Friday, September 26, 2003

Well it's been awhile, so time for another blog.

Lets see, yesterday I moved a few things around in the living room and cleaned and we had Willena and Raewyn Flewelling over for dinner then we (Belinda, Willena Raewyn and I) went to a free health seminar at the Coast Hotel with Cheryl. The seminar was pretty interesting, mostly talking about causes of Cancer and Osteoporosis and things we can to to treat/prevent them, how much some of our food is contaminated (wee fun), as well as naming a bunch of dieting myths and that sort of thing. Here is a site about pesticides in our food
http://www.foodnews.org/ and here is another one that has to do with environmental studies http://www.EWG.org . So all in all a pretty good day.

Today Belinda and I watched the Grounds girls while Teresa was at a dentist appointment. After she got back we went with her up to UNBC drove around the University and went on some hiking trails, which were really beautiful, it being sunny outside. So I think we walked (the kids ran most of the time) for a little over an hour and around 2 1/2 km, it would have been nice to walk farther, but the kids had their fill, so we headed back, baby stroller n' all.

Well, the day isn't over and I know that there are some things that I should get busy with, just thought I'd drop in for a moment.

Duty before pleasure, right? I can never seem to make-up my mind whether blogging is the duty before pleasure, or the pleasure after duty, but I guess I'm here to blog in any case, so lets get the show on the road. Did I mention that I'm tossing around the idea of charging a toll to read or view my blog? After all, everyone needs something to live on. ;)

Started reading the Confessions if Augustine today, so far it's pretty good, he's given some pretty interesting examples in the first part, having to do with when he was an infant and young boy.

Not sure what I did between waking-up yesterday, dropping off Tam, rearranging furniture, cleaning Teresa's main floor, rearranging further, cleaning our house, laundry, picking up Tam, bible study, and sleeping but something caused me to wake-up today with a sore neck and a headache whenever I bend down. So aside from reading and chatting today, I having got much done, although Tam and I are planning on quilting, and Manda is supposed to call at 7 pm :D:D. Sorry, but this had to be a really fast post, so I can't go far into the boring details.

I think I've run out of things to say and I need to pick Tam up in 5 minutes, so chow ya'll and hope you had a more profitable than I. :)

Wednesday, September 03, 2003

Ok, I stayed up too late last night, and so I woke-up at almost 8 and ate breakfast, did a ton of laundry, math, went for a walk, helped fix supper, and all the boring things that go with day to day life.

I finally finished David Copperfield, I would tell you that it's a good book, but the fact that I've been reading it for the last four months would say otherwise. It's the type of book that you read a chapter and although it may have been a good chapter, you're happy enough to put it down and carry on with your work. As most of Dickens works are, it had too much detail; I don't care what every stranger on the road looked like, but I guess he wrote it in the times of no TV, so the book would be like a tv show, that would last you a season. It would have been better if it wasn't over 600 pages, and there were a few characters he dwelled far too much on, that I could have down without altogether. I find that I liked a few of his other books far better, although they have some slow parts as well. So there you have my book review.

And so, here I am folding laundry, getting hungrier by the minute, and the more I type, the less laundry folded. I'm off once more, to the great beyond ie. the kitchen.

Jody
Well, well. I hope to do more of a post tomorrow, but just so that I can lay some claim to being consistent, I'll put a short one on here.

On Monday, Tam and I started the quilt, we only got 20 blocks out of over 100 sewn and trimmed. We would have got more done, but seeing that we had to figure out where we wanted our colors, as well as how to cut and sew them together, it took alonger. We did that all day, then had coolers (they were really good) and kept sewing and cutting, till after 7:30. WE had family worship, and we went to bed.

Today I cleaned up, went grocery shopping, and we had bible study here, and will hopefully be having them here every Tuesday evening.

At the moment I'm sitting here, and I was chatting, but am now getting a leg cramp, so I think it's bed time.

Sorry so short, longer one next time? Probably not, oh well, stinks to be you (Or me, after all I'm the one with a pain in the leg, haha) :P

The more I've been looking around lately, the more I see how insurance makes so much sense, how your house can totally burn down, and if you payed for the right coverage, it can be built right back up, funiture and all. Without it you'd end-up with nothing but a pile of ash and rubble, unless you had the sense to save acouple thousand a year, just incase, but even then a lot of younger couples' places burn down too, and they haven't had the time to save, so wow. I guess so far here in BC there have been over 300 hundred forest fire, a bunch of which have been caused by careless people, around Kamloops almost 30,000 residents were made to leave because of the Okanagan Mountain Park fire. 248 homes and more than 200 square kilometres were burnt in it. It is now heading for Cranbrook last I heard. In other news, we had a bank/ hotal burn down in town here, they aren't sure what caused the fire, but there was a lot of smoke in the sky and you can still smell it when the wind blows. I heard on the news that, our government only put a side 44 million for forest fires this year, and we've been using 8 million a day, and have already payed over, well I can't remember, but around a quarter billion, so we're going to be in the hole. Don't you love high taxes?? I sure do..ugh. But it's time to count my blessings, after all it could be Prince George that's burning, it's amazing what something like fire can do, when it gets out of hand, reminds me of one of those reality computer games, you build your cities and they burn down around your ears, no to mention invaders, but we don't have that part here, phewf. :D

Today Tammy and I went out to the the Claim, yes she had the day off, so we thought we'd make it a berry picking adventure. We knew it was a bit late in the year for berries, seeing that it's late Augest and has been a rather warm but we thought we'd try anyways. Turns out the it was a bad year for huckle berries (which imo are one of the best berries in the word) but we did find some good thimble berries, so it wasn't a loss as far as berries go, but it was also a nice trip down memory lane. We did so much walking/ running up and down the hills, hunting for berries in the Eskers, that right now, even though I tried to have a nap, I'm wiped. We went and looked at the place were we lived, all the burnt buildings
are still there although covered in grass and trees that didn't used to be there, it all looked so different that I'm starting to feel rather old, the small trees were really big. I believe it's been over three years since I've been out there, so talk about nostalgia. All in all, it was a lot of fun, singing and picking. Although Mark's car may be a little worse for the ware. It still amazes me that we had to use that road every time we went to town, up and down and around and brush everywhere. Well you must be tired of hearing about it, so I'll leave off that topic.

Tam and I are probably going to Walmart tonight, to buy some fabric, for a quilt, and then to the mall to hear some local (:P) bands that are playing there, punk bands no doubt, but at least it's close and free. Just so long as no one mistakes us for teenybopper, it'll be fine. :)

Well I'm off to eat, I'm starving. Adios

Yoyo,

I can hardly say I'm back, since I didn't really go anywhere. But I'm here at anyrate, and the visits all went great, but as for details, I don't think I'll write many, but here's a very quick messed-up over view.

When they were here we had a Fellowship meal on the Lord's day and a BBQ on Tuesday and played a game of b-ball which was really fun (didn't even keep score), we had all of the ppl from our church here, and more. My Aunty Rose came by, and Tanis Leo and her boys, Trista Grenon and her little daughter, Laura, Kyla and Michael Taron, Paul from Vancouver, Brandi (Milly Savilles granddaughter) and the Yliruusi family, and then all of our usual people. So there was quite a group, it started around 5pm and ended some time after 10pm. A couple of my cousins came by for a visit as well as my dad's old bosses wife and her daughter. So visits upon visits, it was really busy without much in the way of sleep. Oh, we also watched a couple of old family videos tonight.

My dad was able to come the weekend before last and left Monday morning. Dor had her birthday on Monday the 11th, so we had pizza and cake. The Taron girls stayed with us from the Lord's day evening till after the BBQ. Umm, a lot of trailing thoughts here, eh heh. My mom was able to arrive here after the BBQ. Manda went out to Cheryl's on Wednesday afternoon, and Shawn and Tam went there on Thursday. We stayed up till after 3 am Thursday, packing and such. Friday morning I drove them to the airport, and off they went.

Little Joshua is the cutest little bundle, but of course I would think so, and a pretty happy baby :)

I finally got a bunch of pictures up and my yahoo, only leaving me with 5% of my room to spare. Here's the link Manda, Shawn and Joshua's trip pics

Well need to get upstairs, the dishes await.

Tuesday, July 29, 2003

Hm, is there any point in telling you about Tuesday of last? The one in which I came back from Edmonton. Probably not, but seeing that Amy said she'd fill in the blank of the Lord's day and Monday, I will tell you about Tuesday, whether you like it or not. :D

On Tuesday the 22nd, I was to wake-up at 7am or so, but I guess Char must have hit the alarm for us...twice even :D. I awoke with half an hour to get everything together; including my scattered mind, that I must have left on the pillow (and hey I didn't even forget to pack my pillow!). Cheryl was to call around 8 am, saying that she was leaving the Flewellings. So I quickly packed everything up (don't think I forgot anything this time) and by the time I was done it was 8 am, but still no call. I ate breakfast, and sat around talking to Fran, Ang and Amy. At around 8:30 or 9 she called, we then sat for about another 15 minutes, seeing that she had a longer drive to the pick-up/drop-off point. After huging the Ang and Char; Fran, Amy and I headed for the van. Half an hour drive got us to the place, and ten minutes later Cheryl showed up. Boy was I tired, I could hardly keep my eyes open. I put my stuff in the car and Cheryl and Fran proceeded to talk for half an hour or more. Amy got in the car with me, haha. We all part ways, and I'm on the road again (not the show :P ). Cheryl and I were able to talk about a lot of things on the way: Eschatology, our weekends, the verious families/visitors, health, and a few of the church issues. So 0 sleep, but who needs sleep when you have conversation, right Amy? :) We made a few stops along the way for lunch, fuel, a nice lake, just a normal break and all that good stuff. I believe I got home around 7 pm, so we made pretty good time for how many stops we made.

Today, Tuesday the 29th, I watered the garden and picked Saskatoons with the Calvin and Baillie. One more week and it gets busy again, with Manda, little Joshua, Shawn and Dor's coming, yippy!! Oh boy, time to do the house cleaning again :D.

Well toodle pip and I hope you're all having a swingin' jolly good day.

Friday, July 25, 2003

I guess I never got back to posting about my trip on Wednesday and yesterday was kinda busy for that. I spent yesterday cleaning the house, since the fast is on my normal cleaning day. I also watered the lawn and single handedly removed the old carpet from Tam and my bedroom, since I found out the week before that there's a cream-ish, brown flecked, thin tile under the carpet. Getting the carpet out was slightly hard with having to move all of our stuff around i.e. bookshelves, wine rack etc. but it's done...now I just have to think about painting the one wall in there. The fun never ends. :D

On to Saturday. I think we started Saturday by waking-up rather later. :) We ate breakfast, and I can't remember much of what I did that morning, cept that at some point I went outside with Stacy and drew on the sidewalk, and got all of the girls playing hopscotch, which (believe it or not) can be a rather challenging game, haha. I think Martin came over at 1 or so and talked to Greg Barrow (the conversation consisting mostly of Eschatology and Mp3s), while we girls packed up for a night at Dor's and Amy made cupcakes :D. After consuming some second hand smoke on the back porch (Greg and Martin with cigars), Amy, Ang, Char and I stuffed all of our bags and bedding into Martins trunk and we left for Kris's taco party. When we got to Kris's we took our stuff down to Dor's, everyone showed up, we ate, played games and a bunch of ppl left at 10 or 11. In the end there was only, Murray, Kris, Dor, Martin, Amy, Ang, Char and I on the back porch
talking, in the house talking, and then us girls (- Kristy) in the basement talking. The End of Saturday

Well, I know there are a few things I must do today, so I shan't delay.

I'm thinkin' I ought to change my motto to "Here today, gone tomorrow". At the moment I'm here and will be until I leave to go grocery shopping with Belinda, so I might try to tell you a few of my trip details, if I can remember them.

Starting from where I left off. It was Friday the 18th of July, we (The Barrows, Tony and I) were getting ready to go to the Church picnic. Gathering balls, outdoor games and a few chairs, cooking food, brushing hair and finally after loading everything into the Barrow's van and Tony's rental car, we hit the road. I think it was only about half an hour drive to the Park we were supposed to meet at, so we got there in plenty of time, in fact we were the first to show. After driving around the park for quite a bit looking for a familiar vehicle (which we didn't see), we spotted a red and white tent which looked like the one Kris told us about. We then proceeded to unpack the food and games, set the food out in the tent and then sat back to wait for everyone else. Everyone showed up, set-up their stuff and we prayed and started to eat (there's details for ya). I will now try to remember who "everyone" was. The Dubitz, Doralynne, the Flewellings, Abigail, Martin, Cheryl with her two kids, the Dohms, the Wagners, Shelly Barrow and her kids, John S. and his girls, Tony and the Elossias. After our meal, Amy, Ang and I walked around, took some pictures, went on the swings, got my sandles full of sand....went back to the tent and started to pack the food up. I think for the most part, people stuck around the tent chatting. Around 8pm or so, a bunch of us went to play some beach Volley Ball. We had two teams one consisting of Murray, James, Tony, Israel, Martin and Samantha, maybe someone else too, can't seem to recall. The other team being, Jordan, Leah, Fran, Josh B, Me, Kris, John, one of his girls, Greg and Charity also took acouple ppl's places for the second and third round. There were 3 rounds, two of which the other team won, so the match was theirs. :P. Twas a lot of fun, although my toes were sore from the sand, and we were all nice and dirty from diving for the ball. After those games we just played around with the ball, Ang joined in, as well as a few others. Amy took pics and used the video camera almost the whole time, may the video never be seen. :D I think we all left the Park some time after 10pm, so Saturday ended with everyone going to bed really late, oh, cept for Tony who just stayed up till his leaving time.

I shall blog Saturday later for Belinda needs the comp at present. :)

On to Saturday

Friday, July 18, 2003

Here I am once more, writing to you from Edmonton, in front of one of the Barrow's computers. We had a nice, uneventful trip here yesterday, although I can't say I got much in the way of sleep, talk or music, but none the less it was smooth. We stayed up till 2 am last night even though we girls only had 3 hours of sleep the night before, what fun. :)

We had a nice (using that word too much) visit in PG. The first night Lara and Tam were kind enough to dye Amy and my hair, and I'd say it looks pretty natural, so that's a good thing. The BBQ went well even if we didn't have many ppl. Amy, Ang and I even got to do some shopping before hand, we got some books on sale and they were able to find some nice clothes and Ang also bought a snazzy pair of sunglasses.

The Grounds and Lara came over for a visit on Wednesday evening, muchos funnius, The Grounds left sometime before 7, but Lara sticked around to 11 pm or so and the rest of us girls gabbed till about 4 am, crashed and woke up early, hit the road, and as I said, here we are.

Well, we're having the picnic this evening and I shouldn't spend too much time on this thing, and I really don't have much more to say at any rate, so I'll check in later, but remember "later" is all relative. :D

Saturday, July 12, 2003

Well here I am once more to give the up-date...on old news :D.

Didn't get a whole lot of sleep last night, so hopefully I can post this real nice and quit so that I can hit the hay.

Today I spent my time cleaning, bye! Well that was fast, wasn't it? I guess I could tell you what I cleaned, reading about it will give you a reason and the ability to fall asleep, so in the end I'm doing it for your own good. :)

I started my day rather early at 9:00 am (ok, so it wasn't that early) I made my bed..I eh hem stayed in my PJs all day, what else are Saturdays for? I them proceeded to clean the basement, which means sweeping, cleaning the laundry room, the bathroom, and sorting a bit of junk that seems to appear out of nowhere (sleeping yet? No? Ok I'll keep going). I then moved on to the stairs, working my way up. I dusted and washed the glass, windows and mirrors, cleaned the upstairs bathroom, bedrooms, vacuumed, Tam was kind enough to sweep the kitchen as well as mop it and mop downstairs, we kinda cleaned the yard and somewhere in the middle of all that I got online and sent Manda an e-card, for it is her birthday. Later in the evening we called her on the phone, talked for a little over an hour. We left a message on the answering machine for my parents, for it is also their anniversary. Belinda, Tam and I then figured out what we're eating this week and made a grocery list, and here I am now. The End

Well happy dreams,

Jode

Thursday, July 10, 2003

Argh Amy, I just added some links...and they worked in the preview, but I tried to save them and it didn't save, do you know what I did wrong? :D

bye
Ok, I did say I'd blog, can't let these things beat you you know :P. I think the problem is that when you have time to post, you have nothing to say, and when you have a ton of things to say you are far to busy to say them..after all it takes a lot of time to give detail..not that I would know, eh heh :D.

Hm, where to start is yet another problem I come across. I'll start from when I was last in chat, the day being Friday the (leme check) 4th. It was a warm evening in the basement despite the thin carpet on the cold cement floor, the hour was waaay too late..haha sorry just trying to see if you are paying attention :D

On Saturday morning I woke-up, seeing I can't live my life in a dream (which is too bad if you ask me), Lara came by the house around 8:30, knowing Lara it was probably 8:30 on the dot. After grabbing my junk, she dropped me off at the house Tam was sitting for the week for a co-worker of her's. We then proceeded to watch cable on one of the ladies six TVs (3 of which are HUGE). Going off the point for a second, you know..the more I watch cable the more I relize how stupid it is, you spend over half the time switching channels and in the end only watched about 1/4 of a couple of shows, give me a computer any day :). Back to the point, we talked lots about my trip and such, she talked to Shawn..I watched more tv (bla), we went to bed at a wholesome time, after having eatten three meals of junk food.

We slept in pretty late on the Lord's day, got ready for church, Lara was feeling ill so Milly, bless her heart, gave us a ride to service, we went back to the house via Milly, read and talked and slept.

Monday, Lara dropped me off at Mark and B's, Tam and her went on their merry ways to work, I weeded half of the garden, laundry and the normal things that no one would think of listing on a blog. We had a thunder storm, lots of rain =ing 0 cable..the computer kind.
Tam thinking her self free from house sitting came home, only to find out that the lady wanted to stay out of town for another night. With 0 cable I thought..sure I'll come Tam, one problem, the car battery just happened to be dead..who do you call? Lara to the rescue! She charged that battery and gave Tam and I a ride over to the house. My mom and Aunty Debbie came to town visited Belinda then decided to come visit Tam and I as well as stay the night. We stayed up late, so we had around 5 1/2 hours of sleep, could have been worse.

Tuesday: Lara and Tam head to work after dropping me off again. Mom and Debbie come by and I go shopping with them. then we go to the Court House, my Aunt Vickie had a hearing with a judge, for she is no-longer with her husband (long story). Mark and Belinda also come to the Court House, but it ends up being a closed court room, so we sit outside the room for 2 hours. my Aunt comes out, I guess it went pretty well considering.
So, bye mom, bye debbie, bye Vickie. Home again, had b-day cake.

Wednesday: I called all of the ppl in our chruch about the BBQ we're having next Tuesday, made an appointment to cut my hair tomorrow, I finish weeding the garden, wash, dry, fold and put away Tam and my laundry, and then I cleaned our room and re-organize a bunch of it. I even had time for a couple of walks, one being with Tam to the Mall on a few errands, ah yes a good day. So here I am, it's almost Thrusday.

I'm sure there's a whole list of thing for me to do tomorrow, so I should get my sleep while I can.

I'm truly sorry about this wild post, and all the typos. I'm not going to bother re-reading it tonight, so have fun picking it to pieces :D. If you have any questions about something that doesn't make sense, feel free to comment and I will try to answer them to the best of my ability. Oh look at the time, I missed the 11:59 mark.

Well hope your week has been as borning as mine :D.

Saturday, May 24, 2003

Hey there,

We are right about to take off from FL, over all it was a lot of fun. Yesterday we went to clearwater beach..it was so pretty and warm, we (Ashley, Rachel, Christopher, Jessie and I) spent most of the time playing in the waves and I picked up a few shells, fed some birds..think DeeDee took a few pics of that (makes note to throw the pics away before anyone sees them), ate lunch, played in waves...and last but not least got a really burn ooowww..we did have "water proof" sun screen on but in little writing on the back it says to re-apply after sweating or getting wet..ugh. I'll live, but I really must go, we're ready to take off. Sorry for typos I haven't the time to read this :)

Not sure if I'll be on the comp tonight, but we'll see, have a great day and weekend everyone who reads this stupid thing. :D

Jode "the over rushed"

PS. Thanks again for the chat Amy and Chris..but what happened to the rest of it? It kinda cut off..oh well, tata.

Thursday, May 22, 2003

It is now Thursday, only two more days before we leave. Yesterday we went to Disney's Animal Kingdom in the frying sun and sticky sun screen :P, boy was it hot, but never the less we were able to enjoy ourselves . We walked around and looked at all of the different animals, the kids got pictures taken of them with Pooh and crew and went on a few ride, all of which were fun, although none topped or even came close to the topping the MindBender or the Drop of Doom. I think my favorite was the one that had to do with river rafting since you get soaked, which is always nice on a hot day.

So I think we were there from around 10am to 6pm then headed back to the condo for rest and showers. We then went to Medieval Times for dinner, which is dinner and a tournament, so you eat while you watch a bunch of knights fighting, a king yelling at the knights, a twitty princess and you also scream your head off cheering for your color, then you get your paper crown signed and then you go to bed (my favorite part :) ).

So ended yesterday, and I think tomorrow is beach day.

Well I think that about it for the moment, I should go find something to do with myself :).

Monday, May 19, 2003

Well it is now Monday, so far we've done swimming, mini golf and checked out the fitness room, it it waaay to hot out there to live (I think it's around 30 or more). The kids are going for another round of swimming, but I for one am staying with the A/C :D.

The sad news is that these comps can't get Yahoo Mess. or into MSN chat, so I'll have to live with just having email and blogs..so start blogging! :P

I shall be off, leaving you with yet another short blog.

Jody,

BTW Amy, can you send tonights chat to me?..pretty please, or whoever may have it, thanks a bunch.

Hey all,

Just wanted to let you know that we made it to Orlando safe and sound and our making ourselves at home in this really nice condo. :)

Hope you're all having a nice weekend.

Wednesday, May 14, 2003

Ok, it's late as usual so all you get is a really quick, unedited over-view, skipping impressions and such :) maybe next time (as if), so here goes nothin'.

On Saturday we got up and started getting ready to go, but we got up late and all the kids were on the slow side so we left to the Strawberry Festival late. We arrive at the SF over half an hour late, so we were only able to stay for 1/2 an hour, but that gave us enough time to buy some strawberries and look at a bunch of craft booths and such. So after that we headed back for Forsyth, for Austin's (a cousin of the kids) birthday party, had the cake, pop, burgers, presents and such.

John and Tony were here on the Lord's day as perusual, had lots of good thought provoking talks, good sermon, and everything else that makes the Lord's day a true blessing and joy to keep.

Monday was Michael's 6th birthday, so once more we went to the park and had the cake, presents, pictures, (forgot that one last time :) ) pizza (couldn't have burgers twice after all) the sugar filled pop, and a treasure hunt, which I was included in, haha. Monday night Ashley was on so thus the reason I didn't show. Oh I also put the last stiches in a seal on the quilt, so I'm free from that project. :)

Tuesday the computer was down as well as most of today.. er, Wednesday (boy it's late). We started putting Manda and Josh's quilt together on Wednesday, which is how we spent most of the day and just about everything else is a blur, oh and we got this computer running, now there's a relief.

Today I need to go to bed or I will get nothing done. We leave for Florida on Saturday morning so we'll be doing the packing and getting a few of the hand stitch parts of the quilt together, so we can do that we sew while we travel. So I may see a few of you in Friday chat and I think I'm out of things to say, cept that I will rememeber the post cards (I feel like I'm going to forget somehow, haha)

Well have a nice week/end and I'll be dropping in now and then to say a word or two.. I hope (you hope not :D)

toodley-do (weird I know, it's off the top of my head..and it is late)

Monday, May 05, 2003

Ok, so here I am in GA..yes that's right I made it in piece, although I did have a three hour..hmm I guess I could call it a tour or a wrong turn..haha. Anyways, I woke-up at 4:30 Saturday morning to get ready to leave, I had gone to bed at 12 eh heh, so that makes four hours of sleep, but I was feeling pretty awake. So my dad (who was in town for a couple of days to pick up machine parts and such) took me to the airport I got my boarding pass and said my "bye" and got on the plane. When taking off I was tempted to say "weeeee", it felt kinda like a roller coaster ride. All of my flights went well, I enjoyed each one, the view was awsome (I had the window seat for all three of my flights), I didn't feel sick, although maybe a bit light headed (for your info Chris, they gave me a bag of potato chips and the bag certainly puffed up..although even with the pressure I was able to sleep for two hours on my flight from Seattle to Atlanta..so you were wong and I was happy I took my pillow :P). I arrived in Atlanta about 15 minutes early and found my bag, yes I was really happy to see it. Here's where things went wrong..of course they had to go wrong or I wouldn't have anything to write about :D. Well where shall I start in the wrongness, I picked up my bags and in my one sentence of directions, it said for me to pick up my bags and take the tram to the end of the line..well I didn't see a tram but I did see a train, so went over to a lady a the station and asked her if there was an "end of the line" and of course she told me that there are north, west, east, south and a couple of other ones..I showed her my directions and she said that I was at the right place but I wasn't sure where to go to. I tried using a payphone for the next half an hou,r but for some stupid reason the Shaw's numbers weren't working, I also tried a few other numbers and I couldn't get a hold of anyone, I even got the help of acouple of different ppl and still nothing, so one of the ladies got a phone book and a map and figured out which "end of the line" was the closest to Forsyth well the closest one was the North Spring End, so I got on the subway train. I get off at the end and there's no one I know there, I tried to do more phone calls..yes by this time over an hour had gone by and I felt like crying..if fact I think I did cry a bit..but you would have too if you only had 4-5 hours of sleep and had walked all over the country side lugging your bags around..so anyhow I called Mark and B, and their number actually worked, but I only had two minutes to tell him everything and I wanted him to get a hold of DeeDee, so that they would know where I was, but they still wouldn't be able to get ahold of me since the stupid payphone didn't have a number on it. I then tried a phone that was for assistance..and boy did I need it..haha. A nice young couple came up to me and asked if I need some help, the girl had a cell phone yippy!! I called DeeDee and found out that there was a tram in the airport that I was supposed to take, but it just so happens that I didn't come in the Gate DeeDee thought I would come in, so I didn't see a tram anywhere and don't ask me why none of the ppl I talked to earlier didn't tell me that the tram was at the airport, the only ones who actually knew, were the couple with the phone..argh. So I got back on the train, an hour later I got back to the airport, the Shaws were there and we left about 3 hours from when we probably would have left, if I hadn't arrived early and if they hadn't arrived late, haha. So that's my story and I'm sticking to it. :) Oh and I'll have to do the postcard thing later, cuz it was after 12 when I got back to the airport and I had been planning to pick the cards up after I found the Shaws at 9 or so..but since that didn't happen..eh heh.

Well I should probably be on my way, hope everyone had a good weekend. :D

Jode

PS This better work cuz I keep getting booted..oh and I'm sorry for any typos and missing commas, I haven't reread :D

Tuesday, April 29, 2003

Well I'm back..to the land of the not so living, haha well living yes, but blogging no. I had a wonderful visit even if I can't remember half the things talked about. I arrived safe and sound on Thursday evening and was picked up by Fran and Amy, and the bus was pretty good, seeing that I had two seats and an almost empty bus. Greg had bible study with the Koreans as I guess they do on Thursdays, Amy and I looked at magazines and basically picked them apart and then we all talked till some late hour and went to bed. :D

Friday: we got up late (thanks the the late hour) and got ready to hit the mall (West Edmonton Mall), I think we left around 11:30 or so, but I'm not sure of that. We walked around the mall for awhile, ate lunch, walked some more, window shopped, went to a movie, tried to find some nice shirts (it was opless), did a few other things I won't meation, ate supper, walked around, and got a ride back. Then Amy and I came to MSN chat as usual and stayed up late as usual.

Saturday: I can't actually remember much of the morning, cept that we made some things for the BBQ at the Dubitz, I think we may have chatted on the computer a bit and then went to the BBQ. The weather was cold so we all stayed inside and talked, sang, ate, and whatever else ppl do when they get together (which includes taking pictures). On the way back it rained and I guess it also started snowing later that night, but I guess we were having it pretty good, since Calgary as well as lower Alberta had a real snow storm, which closed the highways and put out some power lines.

On Sunday we went to church and visited with the ppl...took more pictures, ate supper, and Amy and I stayed up till 5:30 am or so talking.

Monday I packed up my clothes said some "byes" and headed for the bus with Fran, Amy, Steph and Stacey around 12:45pm, I got on the bus...and here I am once more in PG, the ride back was pretty good, except that there were acouple of blondes behind me who didn't have anything to say worth hearing or repeating, so I turned up my music and read my book oh not to forget my two hour nap to make up for the lack of sleep.

Well that's all I have to say at present. :)

Yo, well I'm off to Edmonton in the morning, I should be in bed but at the moment I'm brushing my teeth :D So anyhow, this was a really short notice thing...and my bags are stuffed, now I'm just wondering how many things I forgot to pack and if I'll be able to get it all back in the bags again. Maybe I'll have to up-grade to a bigger bag in the morning, oh well, I guess we'll see, or then again I guess I'll see :)

Sorry so short and dull.

So, once more I am here to tell the story of my boring day...You know I should have stuck to the name "Jode's boring blog" since it was fitting, but I guess so is the "not so daily" part in my new title..whatever.

Yesterday I made myself a list of things to do, but I never got around to the yard raking or pruning..instead I spent 10:00 to 1:00 baking two big batches of cookies (one healthier for B/kids and the sugary one for me :D). Then I went to babysit for Teresa Grounds so that she could get her shopping done without having to take all the girls along. Half-way through sitting, Belinda called and said my cousin Timber who is 18 and Jessie a friend of his, showed up for at her house for a visit. So Teresa finished around 6:00, I came home and joined the rest of them for dinner and got to have a nice chat. After dinner Tam and I need to go pick out fabric for our "up and not so coming quilt", Tam thought we'd be pretty quick so we took Timber and Jessie with us. Well it turns out that to pick out 16 different blues (which we finially had to cut down to eight blues and buy twice has much fabric), 5 golds, 4 oranges, 3 lavender, 1 peach, 5 ecru, 3 greens, 1 sage, 1 sage lavender, and there may have been more that I'm not rememebering. Needless to say, we weren't able to pick them all out, figure out how much we needed of each and where we wanted them to be on the quilt in the intended half an hour, so the poor guy spent an hour walking around the store looking bored. They handled it pretty well and Tam and I were going as fast as we could. So after that, the treat for the guys was that we took them to see a skidder they needed to look at down town, so it was Tam and my turn to wait and wait. We did..of course we threatened to drive away, but it was only in fun..the rest of the time we were walking along the fence looking at the machine and trying to understand what the guys were talking about. Then we went home (ate icecream), talked and talked we got to talk about some good things (no Amy, not the Martha Stewart kind)..such as God's law, family, church, and many other things, until it was 1 am and we were all wanting to fall asleep. We always like getting into talks with Timber since he isn't afraid to tell you what he thinks, although some of it is off and I'm not sure how much he applies things, but where theirs God's Will, there's a way, even if we don't see it.

So, this morning we got up, ate, talked a little bit more and then they were on their way (their way being Jessie's parents place in Kamloops to pick up some of his stuff to take back with him to Fort Nelson) I guess they are going to go by a few other places to look at some more machines, wee fun. Lets see Tam and I walked to the Mall bought a few groceries, went to Overweitea foods to get a few more that Extra Foods didn't have and that was about all of my day yippee doodle.

Toodle Pip,

So here I am after 3 days..I put things off..so sue me..or.. you could see it like I'm saving you time, if I don't write you don't waste your time reading, works for me :D

Today Belinda the kids and I did our grocery shopping, as usual it was long and uneventful, tomorrow more yardwork ho. I did get the backyard done but the front is calling my name and there are some more trees in the front that need prunned, oh and I need to do some baking..ok I'm feeling really boring right about now so I'll sign off and out.

Jodeski <---that ones for you Amy wouldn't want you to feel left out!! :D

PS Irene keep up the good work, you put me and my blog to shame, haha.

I'm listening to nothing..why don't I have my music on??

Well I just got back from Lara's about half an hour ago. We suceeded in our mission of aquiring a quilt pattern woohoo!! (sorry I had to) It's going to be an activity quilt, really cute but also very hard. We're supposed to go back next week when her mom is home, and her mom will help us put it together. Her mom is an awesome quilter and the best I've seen yet (not that I've seen many). She uses paper patterns to sew her fabric together for her quilts..but that's too hard to explain, you'd have to see it for yourself, not that you want to :D. We also watched The God Father which is rather a chilling movie, I only saw the second half since Lara and Tam watched the first half last week..Mobs are awful things and once you start the ball rolling there's no real stopping..also showed a lot about the RC church but I shan't get into that.

Well Tam and I planted some flowers tonight at 9, (odd I know) but seeing that Tam wanted to plant them and today's her day off and we didn't get back until 8:30 it seemed like a wise thing to do.

Anyhoe didn't say much on here but I thought I should say something even if it wasn't worth reading. :D Btw thanks for the effort Amy. :D

Jodu <--that one's for you Chris

PS Lara's going to come to church again. :)

Ok, so here I am and I had better spit the last two days out pretty fast seeing that it's pretty late (almost tomorrow)...why is it that I can never post earlier?

Yesterday..what did I do..oh that's right, the main event was me walking to the mall in the rain (the rain that started less then a minute after I set foot outside) to return a Whinnie the Pooh movie (The Book of Pooh, as if you wanted to know) and to finally send my mom's ever-late birthday present to her. Her birthday is actually in January but seeing that she wanted a couple of pictures blown-up and framed as a present and we were affraid of them braking, we had been hoping that my dad would be able to come for a visit when Shawn was in town and take the pics back with him for mom, but alas that didn't work out. So I took them to the post office and found that they really don't make the right size of boxes for sending such gifts, so I had to take a trip to the grocery store to find a box, I had to rip the box to make it fit, had to buy the tape to make it stay together and I had to buy a marker to write on the box. I then realized that I (being the idiot I am) forgot to write so much as a note to send with it...so I then proceeded to find I nice government envolope (I knew they'd come in handy some time) which I ripped open and wrote on with my handy-dandy marker, somehow I got it in to the already taped up box and finally I sent it..woohoo.

Today as usual, was grocery shopping day which Belinda and I did in rather good time. I got a call from the Grounds around 5 saying that they needed a sitter at 6 - 10, so that's what I did with the remainder of my evening, it was all good and fine.

Now that I've bored you to sleep with yet more useless info I'll leave you in peace and head for bed. Oh and look at the time..I was too slow.

Have a good sleep and day ya'll.

Real date April 5, 2003

Well lets see, today I woke-up really late, (no, I'm not telling you what time)Manda called soon after I awoke to talk to Tam, so I got the other phone and joined right in (with their knowing of course, they don't care though, since it saves Manda time being able to talk to everyone at once :D). We talked about so many things that I can hardly remember one of them...sorry :D. There was the part about the D Harts, but you've probably heard enough about that sad subject. Um I think an hour or two's worth of talk was about parenting and the right way to do it. Talked about a few people's houses and prayer requests and awhole lot more so that's all I'm gonna say about that.

When we finally got off the phone at around 5:00 or 5:30 (hard to remember since my watch is dead), did a quick clean of the house and went bowling with awhole lot of Tam's co-workers and their kids. It was a going away party of sorts for one of the bosses sons (TR), who is taking a hiking trip or guiding, in the Yukon, just where I wanted to spend my summer. So I got put on a team, and bowled..kinda badly, but hey, who really cares when almost everyone else was doing just as poorly as I. It may have been a little more fun if I had been put on the same team with Tam, but as it was my team was pretty good and there were chips and pop..oh and cake..so who really needs "Fun" it's all relative anyhow.

Well enough rambling for one night, hope you're better employed then I am at present :D.

Jodei <---just to throw everyone off

I thought I'd take another try at this, just so I can say that I at least tried.

I find blogs rather hard to keep up with, since for one, you never really have anything to say other than such boring things you've done in your day, you know the ones I mean, in fact they are the same ones you do everyday maybe adding a new one here or there like "today I clipped my nails, they were long". The second reason being how hard they are to post and keep in order, well unless you pay money, but who wants to do that for something they probably won't use much although knowing that I paid for it may make me use it since I hate to waste any cash. As for the program I'm useing right now..well lets just say it won't even let me copy or paste so Archives are a nightmare. The third reason it's hard..people might actually read what you write, in which case you don't want to put down every random thought in your head since you may have one or two people looking at you like you're a nut from the peanut jar or peanut butter jar which may be worse since in that case not only are you a nut but you're a crushed nut.

But anyhow, I said I'd try, so here I am and at the moment I am doing the same thing I do every night Pink....no, not take over the world, I only do that one weekends...I'm sitting in this brown fold-up chair that likes to pull hair, brushing my teeth, typing nonsense on my second blog that hopefully I'll only show to Amy.

Well the evening isn't getting earlier and my eyes aren't getting lighter so I shall shove of.

Good night Jody...

Not up to much today, cuz it got me partner (the nasty cold that is), even poor Belinda caught it a couple days ago. So I spent my day sleeping and coughing.

This evening was bible study so that's where Tam and Shawn are at present, since the rest of the sickies opted out.

We had some guys come and put a water system in. But they left the door open all day, so it was really cold in here. They also let the cat outside, but we somehow got him back in.

Oh and I figured out what we did on Saturday, I must not have got enough sleep when I wrote my last post, or I would have remembered that Shawn actually got here on Saturday not Friday. So the mystery is solved.

Well, here I am to give a quick update on my weekend as well as what has been happening so far this week. If you are bored already I suggest you leave :D.

Ok, Shawn and Tam got here a little after 6pm or so, we ate the pizza that somehow turned out being good (go figure), We sat around and talked the rest of the evening. So that was Friday.

On Saturday wwee, did something but I can no longer remember, hm. I'll have to think about Saturday and get back to you on that.

We had a lovely Lord's day, although poor Mark and Calvin are sick, so they stayed home. Lara came to church and gave Tam and Shawn a ride. We had the fellowship meal at our home, since no one was afraid of getting a cold and we didn't want to leave Mark out and he certainly didn't want to be left-out :).

On Monday, Tam and Shawn went out for lunch with some of the ladies from Tam's work. In the evening, Shawn, Tam, Lara and I, went to Taste Buds for supper and then had a bible study (Tam and Lara normally have one on Monday's)in the back corner of the cafe. Got home, stayed up late..all of the usual. (btw, Amy if you have a copy of chat can you send it my way, please :D)

Today we got up late (as usual) I dyed Tam's hair (just a hint of red), Shawn and her went out to lunch at the Grenons, got back here, we all made supper, Lara and Julia came over for supper, as we had previously planned and played a board game. The night is not yet over so I think I'll sign off.

Hope you're all having a swimming good time,

Jodes

I think I finally found a way to move my posts to archives (yahoo!). I ended up having to do it through my Word Processor, since this PageBuilder wouldn't let me copy or paste. I had to paste it from my actual page then put it into Processor, save it, then open it in the builder. :) So now I'll have room to post all of my unexciting news.

So anyway, Shawn hasn't arrived here yet although Tam has gone to the airport to pick him up.

We're having pizza tonight, we were going to make the dough in the bread maker but I being the tired idiot that I am, tripled the recipe so that we had too muhc dough for three pizzas and far too much for the bread maker. So I worked that out, put half in the over to rise and the other half in the bread maker. Now to the really sad part, Belinda forgot that half of my dough was in the oven. So we now have a round loaf of pizza dough bread :D. I'm very glad I had half in the maker, so it ends up that we'll being have two pizzas instead of three. Well I must go, for they need toppings :D

adios,

Jode

Real date March 19, 2003

better make this quick, it's way past the time I should be in bed.

Ok,Today I got up at around 7am, had breakfast, read, quilted, grocery shopped,
went for a nice half an hour walk in our beautiful weather, mailed my tax return (while I was on my walk) and a few other things that I won't waste your time with.

When Tam got back from work we went and got a couple of movies...as well as some awfully good icecream.

In other news I just about killed myself tonight by swollowing two big vit.C's, or rather not..quite swollowing them. I think you get the point that one of them got stuck in my throat and it didn't want to go down for anything (it hurt so stinking bad!)at least not until I threw-up (sorry for telling you that part, but it's not like I made you read it :D). So after it went down, I felt a bit better, though I now feel like I have a hole in my throat....Now I'm starting to wonder if taking vit.C only keeps you from getting a cold by killing you before the cold takes hold. I'll have to waste my time pondering that question later, for my bed is calling me.

Hope you're sleeping, unlike me,

"Jode, the crazy" from lack of sleep and a hole in her throat.

PS I'll read this tomorrow and find a ton of typos.

Ok, today is now Monday, but I'll take the time to expound on what happened on Friday.

Friday night, After having bought a few groceries, Lara (Tam's co-worker/friend) and Tam came and picked me up. We had to wait around here for an extra half an hour because Mark and Belinda were still out on a walk and the kids were with us. We got in the car,. Lara put on a CD (the one I made) we then proceeded to sing our heads off. We had to take the long way to pick up Lara's other friend (Julia) since the shortcut was blocked by a huge puddle that was starting to resemble a lake. Needless to say, we weren't willing to swim it.

We arrived at the house Lara is sitting. She busied herself with giving meds to a couple of old pets that were left in her care, while the rest of us started dinner. We finished eating at around 9:30 or so, baked some cookies (haystacks and oatmeal), got crackers, spread and what-not. Then to the living room to watch movies. Went to bed at around 2:00 am.

Got up at 10:00, ate breakfast. Tam, who was getting Lara to give her a ride to a dentist appointment, realized that she had forgotten her purse at home. But was able to call her work and get whatever number that she need to receive dental coverage. After she got back from the dentist, we decided to go eat lunch at a cafe. We then went window shopping, Tam bought a sweater (I lent her some money :D) and the other girls got to run a few errands. Tam and I got home at about 5:00 pm ate dinner and cleaned up with what little energy we had left.

The End.

Hm, where shall I start. Today I wasted far too much time trying to set up a site that I will probably never use. Belinda and I took the kids sledding which was fun, and the weather is super warm (5c), which means that I should take a walk around the block (with my cdplayer of course). As a few of my fans (yeah right) know, I'm going to a girly sleepover tonight which I need to get ready for, after my walk. I may write about it later so don't stay tuned. :D
